Questions Parents Ask

My child does not speak. Can they still have a tutor?

Yes. Your child can answer by pointing, tapping pictures or typing, or with their own AAC device. Every way of communicating counts.

Is this therapy?

No. This is educational tutoring in reading, math and writing. It can sit alongside speech therapy, OT or other support your child has.

What if my child gets upset during a session?

The tutor pauses, puts up a calm screen and offers a break. The grown-up at home can step in, and the session can end early if that is best.

Does my child have to be on camera?

No. Your child can join with sound only and still use the shared screen.

Does my child need a diagnosis?

No. Tell us what helps your child, and we will build the sessions around it.

Will you use visual supports?

Yes: picture schedules, first-then boards, choice boards and visual timers, all on screen and all spoken aloud when tapped.

Is there an autism tutor near me?

You do not need one nearby. Sessions are live, one-to-one and online (virtual tutoring by video), so a trained tutor comes to you wherever you live in the US, with no driving.
