Tutoring Disclaimer

Spectrum Unlocked provides educational tutoring. This page explains what the service is and what it is not.
Summary
- Our tutors teach. They do not assess, diagnose or treat any condition.
- A learning plan is a teaching plan. It is not an IEP, a 504 plan or an evaluation.
- We do not guarantee any grade, score or outcome.
1. Not an Assessment or Diagnosis
Our tutors do not assess, test for, diagnose or rule out any condition. The learning profile you complete uses your own words, and no diagnosis is required to book. Nothing in a learning plan, session note or progress summary is a clinical finding. If you have questions about a diagnosis, speak with your child's doctor, school or a licensed professional.
2. Not Therapy or Medical Care
Tutoring is not speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA, counseling or any other form of treatment, and it is not a substitute for them. Tutors do not give advice about medication or treatment. A tutor may suggest that you raise something with your child's school or doctor. That is a suggestion, not professional advice.
3. Learning Plans
A learning plan is a teaching plan written for one child, based on the information you and the tutor provide, and reviewed by the tutor before you see it. It is not an IEP, a 504 plan, an evaluation or a legal document, and it does not create any obligation for a school.
4. Progress Reports
Ratings, milestones and summaries describe what the tutor observed during sessions. They are not test scores. We do not guarantee any grade, score or outcome.
5. Materials
Printables and other resources shared during or after a session are for your child's use at home. They are not a curriculum of record.
6. Emergencies
Tutors are not physically present with your child and cannot respond to a medical or safety emergency. If a child is in danger, call your local emergency number.
