What is in this pack, and who is it for?

It has a six-step visual greeting script with a photo on every step, a self-check, sequencing cards and a comprehension check, plus four one-per-person counting cards, a visitor tally sheet, a running-low decision card, a data sheet and three IEP goals. It is written for teens and young adults from about 13 to 21 in special education, life skills and transition programs working on customer service and vocational skills.

How does it teach the routine?

In three levels that fade the support. The student starts by matching the step cards to the greeting mat, then cuts and orders the cards and runs the counting cards with support, then greets visitors and counts out pieces at the door on their own while you take data. Practice at the classroom door before Halloween so a real doorway makes it stick.

Is this really framed as a job?

Yes, and that is the point. Passing out candy is customer service: you greet a visitor, give a fair amount to each person, keep count, and adjust your supply as it runs low. The pack teaches those as job skills, and they transfer directly to a store counter, a front desk and a service window later.

How many pieces does a student give each person?

One piece per person is the default the counting cards teach, unless your family's or program's rule differs. The one-per-person counting cards practice giving the right number to a group, the tally sheet keeps a running count of visitors, and the running-low decision card teaches adjusting the amount so the supply lasts, which is a real customer-service skill.
