Not Sure Where to Begin? Start Here.

You've found Spectrum Unlocked, and that's the first step. Now let's make sure you get exactly what you need without wading through everything at once.

Pick the path that fits where your family is right now. Each one walks you through a step-by-step sequence: the right blog posts, tools, and downloads in the right order.

Where Are You in Your Journey?

Newly Diagnosed

Your child was recently diagnosed and you're not sure what to do first.

We'll walk you through processing the news, understanding the evaluation report, making your first calls to doctors and the school district, learning about therapies, building daily structure, and finding other parents who get it. Seven steps, in order, with everything linked.

Start here if: the diagnosis happened in the last few weeks or months, or you're still figuring out the basics.

Autism Screening

Your pediatrician ran an M-CHAT, you're on a diagnostic waitlist, or something feels off and you need a plan now.

We'll walk you through what the M-CHAT actually measures, how to self-refer to Early Intervention without a diagnosis, what documentation to start, what to expect from the diagnostic evaluation, and what to do if your pediatrician says wait. Seven steps. None of them require a formal autism diagnosis.

Start here if: you got an M-CHAT result, you're on an evaluation waitlist, or you suspect autism but don't have a diagnosis yet.

Autism Evaluation

You're trying to get a formal evaluation, comparing public vs private vs school paths, or stuck on a waitlist.

We'll walk you through the fastest path to a diagnosis in any US state, what the evaluation actually measures, when to pursue school evaluation versus private versus both in parallel, and what to do if waitlists are 12+ months. State-specific guides currently cover California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania, with more states being added.

Start here if: you're on an evaluation waitlist, deciding between paths, or trying to understand what will be measured.

IEP Warriors

You need to navigate the school system and advocate for your child's education.

We'll cover your legal rights, how to prepare for meetings, building strong IEP goals, communicating with school staff, tracking everything in writing, and what to do when the school says no. Every template, checklist, and script you need is linked.

Start here if: you have an IEP meeting coming up, your child isn't getting the services they need, or you want to understand how the system works.

Parents of Teens

Your child is growing up and you're planning for independence and adulthood.

We'll cover transition planning timelines, life skills development, school transition goals, social and emotional support in adolescence, planning for employment and housing, and teaching self-advocacy. Everything is organized by what to do now versus what to research for later.

Start here if: your child is 12+ and you're thinking about what happens after high school.

Not sure which path fits?

If you suspect autism but haven't gotten a diagnosis yet, start with Autism Screening. If your child has a diagnosis already, start with Newly Diagnosed even if the diagnosis wasn't recent. You can always jump to another path when you're ready.

And if you just want to browse everything we have, the Resource Library and Blog are always open.
