A homeschool ID card is a card your school issues, not a government ID. Stores that give teacher or student discounts set their own rules, so check with the store before you go.
A student ID gives a homeschooled child the same kind of card their friends at school carry. It helps at co-op check-in, at a library that asks for a student card, and on field trips where a site wants to know who is with the group. A lot of kids are simply proud to have one.
The sample is a Side Stripe card for Sam Rivera, 4th grade, at Maple Grove Academy. It leaves off a birthdate and a home address on purpose: the back gives a parent's name and phone number and nothing more. Customize in Editor opens it in the free maker, where you can add a card for each child.

Frequently asked questions
- Is a homeschool student ID card an official ID?
- A homeschool ID card is a card your school issues, not a government ID. Stores that give teacher or student discounts set their own rules, so check with the store before you go.
- Can I make a card for each of my children?
- Yes. In the maker, add a student for each child, up to 8. Their cards print on the same sheet as the teacher card.
- Should I put my child's birthdate on the card?
- This template leaves it off on purpose, because a lost card should not tell a stranger a child's full name and age together. Add a birthdate line in the maker only if a program asks for one.
- Can my child use it for student discounts?
- Some stores, museums and theaters give student prices, and each one decides what proof it accepts. Ask before you go.
- What size does the card print?
- 3.375 x 2.125 inches, the standard wallet card size, so it fits a standard badge holder.
