Free Worksheet Maker

Type one name or paste your whole class, choose how much help each child needs, and print. Sheets come out as a PDF with no watermark and no account. Built by a special education team, so the support level is a control rather than something you have to fake by picking a different font.

What are they practicing?
Whose name is this for?

One name per line. Paste your whole class if you like, up to 30 names, and you get one sheet per child in a single PDF.

Type a name to see the sheet.

Names print the way you type them. We default to Emma rather than EMMA on purpose: children who practice only in capitals often arrive writing that way.

How much help?

This is the default. The first line gives them a letter to trace over, the next lines give less and less, and the last line is blank for them to write it themselves. Or pick one level below and every line on the sheet will be the same.

Worksheet Generators By Type

Each of these opens the same maker with the choices already made, so you land straight on the thing you came for.

What Makes This Different From Other Worksheet Generators

Most worksheet generators give you one sheet for one child, and the only thing you can change is the typeface. That is fine if every child in the room is at the same place. Nobody teaches a room like that.

Three things here work differently, and all three come from special education practice rather than from printing software.

  • The support fades down the page. A sheet starts with a solid gray letter to trace over, moves to a dotted outline, then to a start dot on a blank line, then to nothing at all. One page carries a child from full support to writing it themselves, which is how handwriting is actually taught. Other generators repeat the identical row six times.
  • A class list is one build. Paste thirty names, get thirty sheets in one PDF. You can hand each child a different support level in the same print job.
  • The sheet sizes itself. Bo and Maximiliano cannot share a layout. Letter size and page orientation are worked out from the longest name on the sheet, so a short name fills the line and a long one never runs off the edge.

Special Education Worksheets

Support level and letter size are separate controls here, and that separation is the reason this tool exists. A fifteen-year-old learning to write their name needs full tracing support at an age-appropriate letter size. A five-year-old who has nearly got it needs large letters and almost no support. Any generator that ties those together can only serve one of them.

The same applies to the layout. The low-distraction option strips every decorative rule and prints at maximum contrast, which is what an autism classroom asks for and what a school photocopier handles best. Nothing on the sheet is there to look pretty.

Common Questions

Is this worksheet generator really free?
Yes. Every sheet prints and downloads as a PDF with no watermark and no account. You get five sheets before we ask for an email, then thirty a month after that, which is more than a teacher usually needs in a prep session.
Can I make worksheets for my whole class at once?
Yes, and this is the part no other worksheet maker does. Paste your class list, up to thirty names, and you get one PDF with a sheet per child. You can also set how much help each child needs, so the same activity comes out at four different support levels in one print job.
What is the difference between a worksheet maker and a worksheet generator?
Nothing. They are two names for the same thing, and this page is both. You choose what to practice, the tool builds a printable sheet from it.
Does this use AI to write the worksheets?
No. There is no AI anywhere in this tool. The sheets are drawn from what you type, which is why they are instant, identical every time you print them, and free to make.
Will the worksheets print properly on my school printer?
They are built for it. Everything prints in black, with a light gray option to save toner, on US Letter or A4 with printer-safe margins. There is no color picker, because a class set printed in color costs money and prints paler than black.
Can I use these worksheets with older students?
Yes. Letter size is a separate control from support level, which matters for a teenager still working on writing their name: you can set small, age-appropriate letters and still give full tracing support. Most generators tie the two together and produce something that looks like it is for a five-year-old.
